Các cơn mưa kéo dài đến tận những ngày giáp Tết Nguyên đán làm cho người trồng mía ở Đồng Nai vui mừng do được mùa, còn người trồng hoa thì than vãn vì đứng trước nguy cơ thất vụ hoa tết.

Mía được mùa, trúng giá
Nhiều ngày qua, người dân ở xã Xuân Bắc, H.Xuân Lộc (Đồng Nai) bước vào vụ thu hoạch mía với nhiều niềm vui do năm nay vừa trúng mùa, lại được giá. Ông Đoàn Thế Dũng, một nông dân trồng mía ở xã Xuân Bắc, cho biết: “Do năm nay mùa mưa kéo dài nên cây mía sinh trưởng và phát triển rất tốt, năng suất trung bình ước đạt 80 tấn/ha (cao hơn từ 10-15 tấn/ha so với những năm trước). Đối với những ruộng mía được chăm sóc tốt, năng suất có thể đạt đến 120 tấn/ha, bà con nông dân trồng mía rất phấn khởi”.
Cũng theo ông Dũng, hiện tại Công ty mía đường La Ngà đang thu mua mía cho nông dân với giá 950.000 đồng/tấn (cao hơn 100.000 đồng/tấn so với năm trước). “Mía chặt đến đâu là nhà máy thu mua hết tới đó. Với tốc độ thu mua nhanh như thế này dự kiến vụ thu hoạch sẽ kết thúc sớm hơn cả tháng so với mọi năm, dự tính thu lãi trên 50 triệu đồng/ha mía, ai cũng mừng vui”, ông Dũng hồ hởi nói.
Theo ông Trần Trung Dũng, Chủ tích UBND xã Xuân Bắc, những năm trước đây xã được mệnh danh “thủ phủ” của cây mía đường tại tỉnh Đồng Nai với diện tích trồng tập trung trên 2.000 ha, là vùng cung cấp nguyên liệu chính cho Nhà máy đường La Ngà và Nhà máy đường Trị An. Tuy nhiên, nhiều năm gần đây do giá mía liên tục xuống thấp, nông dân đầu tư thua lỗ nên dần chuyển đổi sang trồng các loại cây trồng khác có giá trị kinh tế cao hơn như: hồ tiêu, thanh long hay các loại cây ngắn ngày như: bắp, đậu, khoai mì… khiến diện tích mía sụt giảm xuống chỉ còn khoảng 500 ha. “Với thành công của vụ mía năm nay, cộng với chính sách thu mua tốt của các nhà máy mía đường sắp tới xã Xuân Bắc sẽ khôi phục lại vùng nguyên liệu mía, tạo được nguồn thu nhập ổn định cho người dân”, ông Trần Trung Dũng nói.

Lo lắng vụ hoa tết
Trái ngược với không khí phấn khởi của người trồng mía, những nông dân trồng hoa ở huyện Thống Nhất (Đồng Nai), địa phương có diện tích trồng hoa tết lớn nhất tỉnh với khoảng 30 ha, lại lo ra mặt khi mùa mưa kéo dài, thời tiết bất thường so với mọi năm khiến việc chăm sóc hoa ra bông đúng dịp tết gặp nhiều khó khăn.
Bà Vũ Thị Tin (ngụ xã Gia Tân 3, H.Thống Nhất), cho hay vào cuối tháng 10 bà xuống giống trồng 5.000 chậu hoa các loại như cúc, vạn thọ…. Thế nhưng, hơn một tháng sau bà phải loại bỏ hơn 200 chậu do bị nhiễm bệnh. Nguyên nhân trên lá và thân cây hoa xuất hiện nhiều vết thâm vàng, đỏ khiến cây bị héo dần rồi chết.
“Do năm nay thời tiết thất thường, đặc biệt là mưa nhiều và kéo dài làm cho hoa mất mùa. Mọi năm vào thời điểm đầu tháng 11 trời đã dứt mưa, nhưng năm nay mưa kéo dài sang đầu tháng 12 đến tháng 1. Việc này khiến cho các loại nấm, sâu bệnh gây hại cho hoa có điều kiện sinh sôi nảy nở, xuất hiện nhiều hơn”, bà Tin lý giải.
Ngoài việc phải ngậm ngùi vứt bỏ những chậu hoa chết, người dân nơi đây còn tích cực phun thuốc trừ sâu và chăm sóc đặc biệt hơn mọi năm. Anh Nguyễn Văn Tươi, một người dân trồng hoa khác ở xã Gia Tân 3, cho hay:“Mùa hoa năm nay, tôi phải đầu tư tiền mua thuốc trừ sâu cao gấp đôi năm ngoái, đồng thời việc chăm sóc hoa cũng đòi hỏi tốn nhiều thời gian và kỹ thuật hơn để giúp cho hoa ra hoa đúng dịp Tết”.
